Welcome to Kubata da Capoeira Antiga!
Capoeira Antiga is inspired by African origins and the style of Master Liminha D’Ogum, (Aug 8th 1964 – Nov 3rd 2005) from São Paulo, Brazil.
Kubata da Capoeira Antiga is dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditions of Capoeira Antiga, which is a style of Capoeira that emphasizes the cultural and historical roots of the art. Capoeira Antiga is believed to be closer to the original form of Capoeira that was practiced by enslaved Africans in Brazil during the colonial period.
Kubata da Capoeira Antiga was founded by Instructor Helder Martins aka Indyana, who is a respected instructor of Capoeira Antiga and a leading authority on the history and traditions of the art. Under the guidance and collaboration of Master Ataare da Costa, Instructor Indyana has established Kubata da Capoeira Antiga as a center for the study and preservation of Capoeira Antiga.
Kubata da Capoeira Antiga is considered the home of ancient Capoeira because of its commitment to maintaining the traditions and practices of Capoeira Antiga, and its role as a hub for the study and dissemination of this style of Capoeira.
